You have probably heard this before, but the best way to get out of debt is to pay off your bills. If it’s credit card debt, take the card that charges the highest interest rate, and pay that one down first. Always pay more than the minimum payment. If you have the discipline to not get yourself into this problem again, try consolidating your loans into one payment, with a lower interest loan.

There should be a non-profit Credit Counseling Services in your area. I can really empathize; mine was as high as $33,000, but thank God, it’s gone. I felt like I was fighting all the forces of heaven, hell, and earth all the time.

There are 2 ways to consolidate, a mortgage refinance or credit counseling. Credit counseling will save you a ton in finance charges since they negotiate with your creditors to reduce or eliminate the interest. has links to companies for both options.
